Hey everyone! I first wanted to say thank you to all of my couples, family, friends, and vendor friends who have been with me from the beginning! It has been a crazy ride so far and I am so excited to see what this year holds for our wedding planning business! It has been a long time since I have written a blog so I wanted to kick off with a post catching everyone up and also to give you a little bit of the Emily Warrick Wedding’s story if you are a new follower!
Emily Warrick Weddings + Events officially began its first wedding season in January 2017 in Raleigh, NC. I often get the question ” what made you get into wedding planning?” and the answer is my own wedding! Me and my husband Ben were married in 2012 and I absolutely fell in love with the whole planning process. However, I wasn’t sure if it was my own wedding I loved planning or if this was something I wanted to really pursue as a career. About a year later I coordinated my first wedding for a family member and never looked back! I first finished my undergrad at UNC Chapel Hill, took a course all about wedding planning, and built my portfolio and experience for two years before officially launching! I still wake up somedays wanting to pinch myself because this doesn’t feel real getting to do the best job in the world!
My first year in business was a dream! I was blessed to start out my journey with the sweetest couples and made some awesome connections with local vendors. The season flew by and I was ready to make 2018 even better! I can definitely say it was an even better year because in the midst of the season we welcomed our baby boy Judah Benjamin Warrick on July 4, 2018! Becoming a mom was the greatest joy I could have ever imagined!
As if welcoming a newborn wasn’t already a big enough change we also decided to move in the middle of this crazy time! My husband accepted a job as an associate pastor at South Metro Ministries in Newnan, Georgia. We literally picked out a house the day we left the hospital, packed all of our stuff up, and moved with a six week old! I’m not going to lie, it was super hectic, but also so very exciting! I was sad to be leaving my wonderful family and friends in Raleigh, but we absolutely fell in love with our new home here in Georgia!
I am blessed that I now get to completely dive head first into establishing my business in the Atlanta area and me and my family appreciate all of your love and support!
